Associazione Centro Aiuti Volontari (ACAV) is an international non-profit organisation
whose mission is to transform lives and communities through inclusive, integrated and
sustainable development initiatives that create lasting change. Its development and
humanitarian interventions are based on the values of sustainability, transparency, respect,
accountability and reciprocity. ACAV operates according to the principles of equality, nondiscrimination
and impartiality by adopting the same approach towards all individuals and
institutions with whom it interacts.
ACAV works in close cooperation with local governments, development partners, private
sector, civil society and communities to support high impact, sustainable and replicable
development initiatives that transform lives and communities in the hardest to reach areas of
the developing countries. By adopting a holistic approach which links humanitarian and
development response, ACAV intervenes in different sectors notably; Agriculture and
Livelihoods; WASH; Education, Sports and Vocational Skills; Environment and Climate Action;
Technical Assistance to Local Governments and Local Organizations as well as Social Inclusion and
Protection alongside other crosscutting sectors.
ACAV has been awarded a grant by Cities Alliance (UNOPS), towards the implementation of
“The Sustainable Urban Integration of Displacement Affected Communities (SUIDAC)
Project in Arua City and Koboko Municipality” under the indirect management of
Cities Alliance financed by the European Union.

Job purpose | To provide security for both the staff and property of the organization. |
Reports to | Human Resource Officer |
Key Duties & Responsibilities | ▪ He/she ensures the safety and security of personnel, premises, equipment and property through security patrols, surveillance and controlling access to and exit from the office premises by staff and visitors. ▪ He/she will be responsible for providing safe guarding and support services to ensure that the office premises remain secured at all times both at night and during the day. ▪ Receive and guide visitors to the office to duly register in the visitors’ book at the gate before accessing the staff. ▪ Ensure that movement of organization vehicles and motorcycles in and out of the office is properly recorded at the gate by the staff using them. ▪ Liaise closely with the Office Attendant in ensuring that a high level of cleanliness is maintained in and around the office compound. ▪ Exhibit a positive image as a representative of the organization free from adverse effects of medication, alcohol and drugs, and neat, clean and presentable at all times and dependable. ▪ Demonstrate excellent moral character, personal habits and use respectable language at all times ▪ Be able to do extensive standing, bending, lifting and pulling/pushing of trolleys and equipment etc. as and when necessary to do so in the course of performing your duties. ▪ Perform any other tasks as required by the Human Resource Officer or other senior staff members that might arise from time-to-time. |
Minimum Qualification & Working Experience | ▪ Minimum of Ordinary level certificate. ▪ A minimum of 5 years of experience from a reputable organization. ▪ A training with a security agency is an added advantage. |
Other requirements | ▪ Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of the local languages in West Nile such as Kakwa, Lugbara, etc. will be an added advantage. ▪ Aged 18 to 50 years. ▪ Sound inter-personal and communication skills. |
